Current In-House Training Workshops
KCCAT offers training workshops in person or virtually several times a year for professionals in the local community and beyond on a variety of topics. These workshops are led by our experienced team members on a variety of topics within our areas of expertise, including:
- OCD and ERP Foundations: This full day (6 hour) workshop is a thorough introduction to assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder using Exposure and Response Prevention. Through a combination of didactic instruction, hands-on application exercises, and discussion, we review the Cognitive Behavioral Model of OCD, differential diagnosis, assessment strategies and tools, and differential diagnosis before diving into the core elements of ERP, including theoretical foundations of the treatment, introducing response prevention, building an exposure hierarchy, executing an effective exposure, and concluding treatment.
- Understanding and Treating Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs): Hair pulling, skin picking, and related behaviors are common but often misunderstood and misdiagnosed. This half-day (3 hour) training equips clinicians with a clear, evidence-based framework for assessing and treating BFRBs using the Comprehensive Behavioral Model (ComB). Participants will learn how to differentiate BFRBs from OCD and related conditions, conduct functional assessments that drive treatment, and implement practical, individualized interventions. Expect a highly applied, case-based approach you can use immediately in clinical practice.
